![]() So far nothing has been confirmed from Amex as far as the fee structure is concerned. The current fee of $550 it’s rumored to go up to anything between $695-$795 beginning the summer of this year for new applications and early 2022 for existing cardholders. This comes on the heels of another rumor that Amex is planning a substantial fee hike for the Platinum this year. I could think of a dozen cards where it makes more sense to spend with rather than the Platinum. ![]() Quite a few people put a lot of spend on their personal Platinum as well irrespective of the fact that the card has a horrible ratio for points earning on anything other than airline tickets. The $75,000 spend requirement will make these changes irrelevant for many, especially Business Card holders. Most issues I had so far at Centurion lounges were with adults spreading their stuff out over multiple seats and using freehand speaker function on their phone. I’m not making this an issue of “do children belong into lounges or not” because I’m generally a money talks kinda person, as long as the behavior is suitable I don’t see a reason for age restrictions. It’s hard to justify that value even for an adult, I personally value a lounge visit $15-20.
